Today Tuesday (5/19) we drove to a more southern part of Costa Rica to hike in the Parque Nacional Carara, part of the rain forest in the central pacific region. The Tarcoles River forms the northern boundary to the park and is inhabited by crocodiles most of the year. In October & November during the heavy rainy season hiking is not permitted due to the high rise of water and influx of crocodiles and caimans.
We hired an awesome naturalist guide, Mauricio. He was very knowledgeable and took us off the beaten path into the forest. What we experienced was truly a special adventure and we saw the most beautiful birds and other animals in their natural habitat.
